QUICK READS 2006  -  MOST TITLES STILL AVAILABLE FROM LBOL

Each book £3.50 including postage

In March 2006, twelve of the biggest names in fiction and non−fiction published short, fast-paced new books designed to encourage reluctant readers to get hooked on books. These were the first twelve titles in the Quick Reads series.

A major new initiative from leading publishers, booksellers and writers, Quick Reads is one of the most exciting developments on the literary scene for years.

Authors published in the first Quick Reads series were Ruth Rendell, Maeve Binchy, Richard Branson, Matthew Reilly, Joanna Trollope, Minette Walters, Conn Iggulden, Rowan Coleman, Patrick Augustus, Tom Holt, John Bird, and Mick Dennis and the Premier League.

There were a further twelve Quick Reads titles published in May 2006, by Andy McNab, Mike Phillips, Danny Wallace, Val McDermid, John Francome, Damien Lewis, Tom Holland, Courttia Newland, Hunter Davies and a new Doctor Who story.

Nearly all of these titles are still available.

Quick Reads is funded by World Book Day, National Book Tokens, the DfES, the WHS Charitable Fund and the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation. Other partners include the BBC, the TUC, The Vital Link and The Reading Agency. Quick Reads is backed by a massive marketing and publicity campaign and a major outreach campaign is currently underway to reach all emergent readers.

Quick Reads books each cost £2.99
